Tempered Oud

The longer I spent with pure Tripuri oud, the more I found within it. Dry, primal earthiness. A quiet sweetness beneath the surface. A delicate floral quality I might have missed if I’d stopped at the first impression.

I wanted to keep looking.

That curiosity became the reason for Tempered Oud. Before choosing anything to add, I spent time smelling the oud and writing down what I noticed. I wanted to understand which parts drew me back and how I could help someone else notice them.

I selected a few supporting materials to gently bring those qualities forward. Each choice had to leave room for the oud’s own character.

The resulting fragrance invites the same attention that began the process. Something that feels earthy at first can reveal a softer detail when you return to it. Spending time with it is part of the experience.

Tempered Oud is my way of sharing what made this material worth sitting with.

It carries a lesson I keep returning to at the bench: understanding what you have can matter more than deciding what to add.
