Somewhere inside an ancient stone castle, a narrow beam of sunlight falls across a wooden cabinet. Dried herbs fill the shelves. Old books sit beside bottles of resin. Dust hangs in the quiet air.

This is the room where the royal apothecary works, preparing remedies for the king.

I never sat down with a plan to create it. I was experimenting at the bench, following the materials wherever they led. Then I smelled what I’d made, and that room appeared in my mind.

Weathered wood, herbs and resins seemed to belong together in a place shaped by years of careful work. I could picture the shelves, the stone walls and the things someone had kept within reach because they mattered to his craft.

That private chamber became the identity of the fragrance.

Chamber of the Crown exists because a combination of materials showed me a place I hadn’t been looking for. Once I could see it, I wanted to preserve it clearly enough that someone else might find their way there too.

Every time I return to it, I wonder what else is waiting on those shelves.
